Saving Account

Hi,

Been discharged 6 weeks now and wanting a savings account to put a few hundred pounds away each month (this will need to be flexible).
An account that i cannot get my hands on the money so ideally it would be tied up for 4-5 years
I have read people opening savings accounts after BR, i just like to know any recomendations on which companies might offer me an account and if anyone has opened a savings acc where there money is tied up on a good interest rate?

Any help or advise? Thanks
:D MOVE ALONG........ nothing to see here..!

Sainsburys Internet saver as well although they will ask for proof of discharge...

A lot of people on here have the Yorkshire Building Society saving account and are very happy with them.

EDA: Phil got there before me and with useful links :D

Hi....I would think an ISA would be a good idea....better rates usually with tax free benefits if you don`t draw it out.

Not sure of banks/building societies that are ex BR friendly though....I imagine Barclays or Coop may be worth a go?

edit....Tiger & Phil beat me too it....as usual ...think I need a typing course!!

sadly Lisa (hello by the way!!) they said exactly the same to me...BUT when I asked for an account upgrade & a promised savings acc they said T&C's had changed & i'd only be allowed these things in 6rs when the BR drops off files...

Just phoned YBS, there advisor said i would be eligable for the internet savings account as iam discharged. But going to surf a little to see what else is out there more suitable to my needs.
Looking for an account that i can pay a monthly sum into and cant get my hands on the money for 4-5 years with a decent APR.
