I've also taken to freezing bread for crumbs, do you guys defrost it before grating it? I've got quite a lot so I was going to be lazy and use my food processor.0 -

Have started reusing the M'Light yog pots as individual portion freezer containers! Have put in chilli and soup so far. Will be useful in the winter when the kids are in school and I need to eat a warm lunch!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

It hasn't gone in there yet, but it will when the blackberry vodka is ready...... the blackberry pulp that gets strained off when the vodka is put into bottles. Just a little added to apple pie livens it up no end!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

I am missing my blackberry bushes!
next door neighbour had them dug out when new fencing went in, they were growing against the old fence! I used to get loads. Still have a few bags of last years in the freezer somewhere!
Rags - yes you can freeze rice! Much better and safer to do that as soon as you can rather than having it hanging around. I put my chicken carcusses into the slow cooker with some herbs, veg peelings, seasoning and water to cover, makes a lovely stock, which in turn makes lovely soups. I have a couple in the freezer now to use up.
Has anybody successfully frozen gucomole? I made some up using the Aldi 29p advocados - it made loads and there are only 2 of us here! I put natural yogurt in instead of sour cream.
Off to harvest some basil now and will chop it up and freeze in ice cube trays. I used to spend over £1 for a very small pack of frozen basil! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
