:beer:Hi Everybody,
I am new to this forum, but non the less have been receiving Martin's e-mail tips for a couple of years.
Having left BT in June 2008, after installing and comissioning their junk, for 30 years as a Technical Officer, and glad to get out because of Americans on the board and their style of senior management. (Lucky escape) I have the intention of going in to full time education at university. This was something that I could not do when younger because of family illness commitments.
Someone told me at my local college, that if I had a study grant for uni. to pay back the minimum each month (pence if possible) as when I reach the age of 60 (now 56) no matter how much of the grant is left to pay off, the slate is wiped clean at that age.
Can I please ask if any one knows about this, and can confirm it for me?
Thank you, and nice to be aboard the forum.

Hi Frivolous_Fay,
Thankyou so very much for the links, and also for telling me about the student board. There must be someone there that will know the answer to my question.
Regards

Welcome to Mse, I'll move this thread to the Student board for you
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!:hello:0 -

Welcome
You will be able to take out a Tuition Fee Loan and a Maintenance Loan that will be assessed on your and/or your partner's income, as will any Maintenance Grant. Loans are repayable when you earn over £15,000 ( 9% of anything over this) but you don't have to repay grants.
Loans are wiped out after 25 years or at the age of 65 if you are over 50 when you start. You can find more information on www.direct.gov
Good luck0
