Can anyone tell me when the deadline is for funding the Halifax Reward account this month? With the Bank Holiday weekend I'm thinking it might be tomorrow. Sept 1st is on Tuesday.

You`re probably correct.
You`ve got to marvel at 24/7 internet banking when weekends and bank holidays still get in the way!
On the other hand at least they`ll cough up the pension early.0 -
Thanks. Now I have to work out the best way to achieve this in time.0

This is the story. I sent a BACS payment on Tues 25 from A & L. Hasn't arrived yet and I am panicking as I don't want to miss out on my £5 reward. Should arrive tomorrow but in case it doesn't I need to plan an alternative.
My other instant access money is in A & L online saver5 which I can transfer to my A & L current account online today and go into branch and get cash to pay into Halifax branch. ALso got money in egg but can't transfer direct to Halifax.
I don't mind if I fund Halifax twice as it is easy to transfer out again.
Any other ideas?0 -
The max faster payment amount is £250, so transfer £249.99 today, withdraw £300 cash today. Tomorrow, if the money is not in the account, make a futher faster payment of £249.99, go to halifax and take out £210 from the cash machine inside the branch and pay the cash over the counter.
Just an idea!0 -
One more important point: you are allowed a maximum of three reward accounts per person, so open another two!0

A word of warning...in my experience*, A&L used to inhibit your debit card's ATM function for 24 hours if you made a large over the counter withdrawal that day.Newly_retired wrote: »My other instant access money is in A & L online saver5 which I can transfer to my A & L current account online today and go into branch and get cash to pay into Halifax branch.
So, and because you may not get the full £1,000 over the counter, visit the ATM first for £250 before getting £750 over the counter.
* Things may have changed now, but just thought I'd point out what happened to me a while ago.0 -
Thanks for those helpful tips.0

I have been informed that you have to credit the accounts once in a statement month... check when you get your statements and as long as a transaction is in those periods you'll be fine (i.e. my statements are produced on the 23rd,24th and 25th for the Reward Acs - so the payment I make tomorrow is for the bonus on 1st Oct)0

I think you've been mis-informed. It works on calendar months, not statement periods.I have been informed that you have to credit the accounts once in a statement month... check when you get your statements and as long as a transaction is in those periods you'll be fine (i.e. my statements are produced on the 23rd,24th and 25th for the Reward Acs - so the payment I make tomorrow is for the bonus on 1st Oct)0 -
