Argos delivered a damaged item

I took delivery of a Hi-Fi system yesterday from Argos. I opened the box and to my surprise, there were scratches on the main deck, a nasty one right at the top about 3 inches long.

Would there be any problem in getting a refund from them?

Anyone have any experience in returning items to Argos that were ordered online and are covered by the 30-day guarantee?

I obviously opened the box (otherwise how could I use it or know it was damaged?) but everything is intact and all it will take to reseal the box is some sellotape.

Give their customer services a call, explain the good arrived damaged and they should organised a replacement/refund for you.

I would say contact them straight way the soon the better as they are more likely to think it was you if you left it days/weeks

Get in touch with them as soon as possible. I had a shredder from them that stopped working after 9 months. I emailed them and they replaced it by courier without any fuss at all.
