What are you doing to us!!! I recently contacted you about the the unexplained charges on our Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan (to which you replied to me by a phone call) I stated that I did not want to carry on with this plan and you said that you would cancel this plan for us (which expires in October) and that I would get a letter From BT saying we could cancel. I have now received a letter from BT saying 'Thank you for choosing our Friends & Family Mobile deal. Since we have already started to provide this offer to you, as agreed, (????) you no longer have a right to cancel without it without incurring termination charges. !!!!!!!!
We clearly stated to you that we wanted to cancel the Unlimited Evening and Weekend plan which you said you would do on line, instead of which you seem to have 'sold' us a new contract. As I understand, you have permission to be on MSE to give advice NOT to sell BT contracts!!!
As you can see by the account details, this account is not in my name (it's in my wifes name) and you have no legal right to change any contract without her consent!
As I understand the Data Protection Act you should not even have spoken to me about a contract in somebody else's name without first getting their consent.
I hope that this is just a genuine mistake on your part and that this 'illegal' contract is cancelled without any prejudice.

Hi Chippy2u, I can see that a PM has been sent to you today but I would just like to clarify what Patrick has done for you! Patrick has taken you off the Unlimited Evening and Weekend renewable contract (but you are still on the Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan as your12 month contract is due to end on the 20/09/09) All that Patrick has done is cancel the renewable part of this contract at your request. This means that after the 20th of October you will be free to change or cancel this package with out incurring any cancellation or held to term charges.Patrick has not changed or added any services on your account. I do apologise that the letter you have received was sent in error as it was an automated system generated letter. Please accept my apologies for any confusion caused.
I hope this clears this up for you!

Thank you for your reply. I am still however a little suspicious about this being an 'automated system generated letter' as the letter was addressed to my OH (the acc. holder) and definitely said 'thank you for agreeing to this contract.' However, I shall wait until October when the present contract runs out and see what happens!0

Hi chippy2u,
I can assure you that the renewable part of the contract has been cancelled and no additional products or services have been added or taken away. Contact us back in October if you wish and we can downgrade your package to the Unlimited Weekend Plan which is basic line rental only and gives you free weekend calls to UK landlines for up to 1 hour T&C's apply see https://www.bt.com/offerterms for more details
Many Thanks
Donna
