Norton - Impossible to uninstall!?!

Can anyone help?
My girlfriend's HP laptop came with Norton preinstalled. I've been trying to uninstall it so that she can use one of the free and less intrusive antivirus programs, but it doesnt show up on the standard windows uninstall feature. I've also downloaded a couple of uninstall programs off:mad: download.com, but they cant do it either. One of them gave me a message saying "This MSI must be launched through setup". Anyone know what an MSI is or how that's done?

Have you tried running the Norton setup.exe or setup.msi file?

It's not very intuitive, but usually the install file gives you the option also to uninstall/remove software.

Sometimes happens with norton and mcafee, download this tool and it should remove all norton products
