I've had a PDA ( mio clone by believe) Typhoon branded for some time now.
I was wondering how easy (or not) it is to use it for mobile internet access.
The manual certainly talks about it ( not very clear) so it can be done.
What other equipment would I need.
Any advice appreciated

Without knowing the model number, it is pretty hard for us to guess and guide.0

Easiest way would be over a wireless network...however; your problem is the PDA you have doesn't have wireless
If you purchase a wreless sdio card ..examples below

http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=WLAN6060
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009PTAXE/qid=1146353206/sr=1-7/ref=sr_1_1_7/026-8823875-4351608
you could then access through wireless
Can't think of an easier way...sorryWelcome, rogerramjet.

My iPaq goes through my mobile for GPRS access - slow but it works and the internet pages can be set to be graphic free to help speed things up. It's done by bluetooth.0

My initial thoughts had been about using my mobile phone as I recently got one of the mobileshop cash back ones and it has 500 free minutes for the first 3 months (which I'll never use).
I'll have a look at the wifi option as well, thanks for the links.
I don't think it i'll help but the pda is badged as a MYGUIDE Navigator 6500L, which as I said I believe to be the same as a MIO 168. The name Typhoon also appears0 -
Just one thought - if you're using free minutes you'll be on a dial-up connection not gprs and it'll be very sloooooow, around 9600bps max, less than a quarter the speed of a landline dial-up.0

Oh well then, that's the phone option ruled out.
it's not something I'm desperate for, it was just an idea.
I'll look at some of the other options.
Thanks for the help0
