I heard from Paul Miloseski-Reid today and he told me that a decision had been made by the London Borough of Richmond to drop the case against Willowbrook.
Although there are about 100 complaints against Willowbrook, only two fall within the London Borough of Richmond area and, being vulnerable adults, would not have made good witnesses at Court.
Mr. Miloseski-Reid will now be forwarding the case to the home authority where Willowbrook is based so that they can consider civil/criminal proceedings against the company.
The problem is, of course, that time limit windows for successful prosecutions will pass (in some instances at least) and the home authority does not seem to want to proceed anyway, despite the myriad of complaints.
Where appropriate, it would seem that an approach to the Furniture Ombudsman is more likely of success in individual cases and much quicker too; Trading Standards have been investigating Willowbrook for over 12 months now!!!0 -
Willowbrook are refusing to honour their 3 year warranty on a 6 month chair! The previous owner died and Willowbrook claim that the warranty is not transferable. The recliner will not recline. It looks like the fault is a manufacturing fault as the cable is loose in the handset. There is no sign of any damage.
The rats require £75 call out to look at it and then will charge for parts and labour on top.
This would appear to be directly against their sale of goods act responsibilities.
More evidence that this company will do anything to exploit the elderly and infirm.Paul_Varjak wrote: »If you are an aggrieved customer of Willowbrook (Recliner Chairs) then please PM and I will put you in touch with a newspaper reporter who is doing a story on this company.
Also PM if you have problems with one of the Willowbrook sister companies. These are:
1. Electro Motion Scooters
2. Aqualift
3. British Stairways
4. Willowbrook (Beds)
5. Willowbrook Equity Release)0 -
I am not sure there is any requirement, in law, for warranties to be transferable.0
