50th B'day in Rome

Hi!
I'm off to Rome next weekend with friends (party of 8) to celebrate a 50th birthday (8th May) I'd like to book something special for that evening. Does anyone have suggestions (restaurant, show etc) that might fit the bill. We don't speak much Italian and are staying near St Peter's Square.
Thanks, in advance, for your help!

There are some nice restaurants near the Trevi Fountain, not expensive and interesting at night...remember to throw in your coins too!0

Hello Billywiz,
Have a look for info on the tripadvisor forum on Rome - you could even post your question on there.
http://rome-hotels.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g187791-i22-Rome_Lazio.html
If you look someone has already posted a query on restaturants with the following reply:
"Trattoria (small restaurant) " Il ragno d'oro" - Via Silla 26 (near vatican)"
Have a look at Frommers:

We found loads out about places to eat near our hotel by reading the hotel reviews that people had left on Tripadvisor too. Or you could give the hotel a call - they'll often give you some ideas and may offer to book the table for you.
Habe a lovely time.0
