Hi all

Here's a bit of a puzzle.
I've got Office 2007 installed and everything is fine ..... except the Format Cells pop-up.

Under font, I get then option what appears to be French! It's the only menu affected as far as I can see.

Anyone any ideas apart from either a repair on reinstall?

You mean one of the font names is in French? What does it say exactly?

No, it's the options that should say:-
    Regular
    Italic
    Bold
    Bold Italic

    It actually says:-
    (can't remember the first one)
    Italique
    Gras
    Gras Italique

It's a works machine and getting the disc is going to be a nightmare!

Very strange! Out of curiousity, does the same thing happen in the Font dialog for Word?

Dunno - I'll have a look when I'm back at work tomorrow.
    Any ideas in the meantime?

Sadly not I'm afraid (other than a re-install), it sounds really odd. Is it a new installation that has always behaved this way, or an old installation that used to display the font style in English but has now spontaneously changed to French?

A bit weird....Not seen this before, but

    Please try:

    Close all Office applications
Open "Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings" under Start ==> Programs ==> Microsoft Office ==> Microsoft Office Tools

Set "Enabled Editing Languages" to just include English (UK) and the primary editing language to also be English (UK)

Stompa - I think it's always been like that and I've just not noticed (don't use it that often).

loudcox - tried that (Belgian was in there for some reason) but still no joy.

Just tried a repair install and no change. Looks like a full uninstall/reinstall unless anyone else has any ideas.

    OK, the plot thickens......
Just tried using other fonts and the styles go back to normal.
I haven't checked every font, but so far it only seems to affect Arial, Arial (W1) and Arial Narrow.

    This is getting bizarre now!

    :edit:

Word doesn't seem to be affected.

EUs attempt at changing the global Business languge to Belgian maybe in consiricy cahoots with Microsoft. LOL no idea that helps but a humourous idea.
