Bank Charges I cannot afford :(

I received a letter from L.tsb a few days ago saying I had two DD that had gone out without sufficient funds being in the account and they would be charging me £40 for this on the 1st of september. Im now totally stuck. I am totally skint atm with little ones starting school and moving house and i cant afford this charge. What do i do? Whiz out all my money from the account and make sure it stays empty or call them or just pay up? please any advice would be much apriciated

    If you empty the account they'll charge you anyway and you'll just incurr further charges for being further over drawn.
    If this is the first time it's happened go into your brance, explain the consequences and appologise. They will probably cancel the charges.
    If it's not the first time then you'll just have to pay up (mind you I suppose you could try grovelling anyway).
    Obviously you should be claiming your charges back with the rest of us although that doesn't solve your problem short term.
