Its not "very drying" at all tara - the other oils stop it from being so

What will happen if you have too much castor oil for your skin type will be it feels tight after cleansing. All you do is moisturise with a tad more carrier oil for that day and just top up your mix with more carrier oil (ie olive/almond/sunflower)

Its not a lasting effect and you just watch what your face is doing and make adjustments accordingly. Im forever changing my mix and usage depending on time of month, weather conditions etc.

Any oils are good for cleansing, the Romans and Egyptians were using them century's ago and spa use them today. Almond oil is great for shifting make up - esp water proof mascara, Olive oil is just as effective and there are that go as far as saying olive oil is a great defender against skin cancers

I also use almond oil as a nail conditioner and I use Vit E oil as a deep moisturiser in the winter when I have the heater on in the car.

using more natural and home made mixes you do tend to get to know your skin better and know what it needs and when it needs it

Just to elaborate on my experiments! I did try EV olive oil as a cleanser, both with castor oil and alone. (I don't think my skin really needs the entire OCM procedure, as it's fairly normal, mature and no real problems. I was more interested in oil cleansing from a saving-money-removing-the-make-up point of view. So really, I'm using the oil just as a cleanser rather than following the OCM as a treatment!)

The ev oil, I found a bit heavy to apply and didn't really feel it absorbed as well as the almond oil. It is a part of my daily diet, so hopefully will recoup the benefits that way!

My mini facial is nothing spectacular!
Cleanse with almond oil, remove excess with cotton pads soaked in warm water. Exfoliate GENTLY with a tiny bit of table salt mixed with the almond oil. Rinse. Steam face over a bowl of hot water with towel over head. Wipe with damp cotton pad. Massage in a liberal amount of almond oil for as long as you can be bothered and RELAX for a while! Don't forget to do the neck as well!Try and stay without make-up for the rest of the day!
