I feel I am being slightly victimised here to be fair, I am asking for people's opinion, and also professionals but I don't feel I'm getting very far.

We know BR is a last resort option, but there are no other options available to us at the moment

Ok we have a surplus of £304.00, come december minus £198.00 off that, and ok if we include having to pay the debts, we'd be up sh** creak without a paddle!
The only reason we're seeing by, is because of benefits, if we were just living off DH wages of £1662.00 we'd probably be spending over that, including groceries etc.

To be honest with you Sammy I would make an appointment with CAB who will look at you out goings and they will try to guide you. I found them very helpful. They even made the appointment for me at the Court.

I'm going to ring them tomorrow, see if I can get through, and try and arrange an appointment for DH to see someone there, and hopefully they can say which route we should really be heading towards. Thanks :)

Did try to get through to the British legion this morning, but it was just ringing and ringing, as I believe they can also offer us advice. Will try both tomorrow.

As far as we have been concerned regards the DLA money, its our DS, and if he needs anything it will be spent on him, i.e, if I need to get a taxi to take him to a hospital appointment or something like that, if I can't get DH to take us. :)

In which case, if you're including his DLA in your income under benefits, you should increase your outgoings to reflect this, you should include alot more for using a taxi for him, for his clothes, for his shoes, for any activities he might want to do, etc. You're entitled to spend all of that part of your benefits on him, and him alone and can reflect that in your SoA.

How much of the £ 723 benefits is the DLA?

    £477.something pence :)
Our Tax Credits also went up from £34.00 to £114.00 a month because our son gets DLA.

I'm really not sure whether they can include it or not to be fair, its like, Child benefit and Tax credits, are they allowed to include those?

Would the DLA be included in bankruptcy with regard to OR finding out surplus income. It's that amount which is showing a large surplus but surely that should be disregarded because it's for Sammy's son.

I must admit if I had to pay into a debt management plan for 44 years I would be unsure whether I would take that option especially as for 44 years I would only be living on bare bones income.

I need to find out if the DLA will be included.
I know in 44 years my DH keeps saying he'll probably not even be around then :(

As far as I am aware they shouldn't take your son's DLA into account. Give the IS a ring in the morning and ask for clarifycation, number in my sig.

Just going to look at your SoA.
