We sold our house - need to cancel bt - will they charge a fee?

Hi everyone
We have recently sold our house so we need to cancel our bt phone line and our bt broadband. They have informed me there will be a charge because i am cancelling it whilst still under the contract. Is there anything i can do? My temporary address does not have a telephone line so i can't even transfer it. Please help! The manager of BT is phoning me tormorrow!

Sorry, I do not think there is anything you can do. You agreed to a contract, possibly of 12 or 18 months and now you are breaking it, so you are responsible for the fees.0

Nothing you can do I'm afraid, you signed up to a minimum term on both so they will charge you an early termination fee, which will be the balance owing to the end of the minimum term.No free lunch, and no free laptop
