Dear all,
Opinions4u is indeed correct as I found out today. Despite Halifax customer services person stating that I was correct and that they would credit my account I checked today and noticed that no money had been added. When I rang the person I spoke with confirmed Opinions4u's statement.
I have complained and they are raising the complaint.
My complaint I feel is valid. When I opened the account it was on the understanding that it was at 10%. I apprecaite that what may have happened is that I opnened the account in July and started funding in Aug, but it does not seem reasonable tha they can change the rate because of that. I would also point out that on the 4 occassions of speaking with their customer services they have all agreed with my calculation and said that they would deal with it accordingly. If I don't get the extra money in interest I should get it in inconvenience!!0 -
Their advertising, web site and the terms and conditions of the account clearly stated that the rate you receive is detemrined by the date of first funding. They were explicit about it.johnnydawson wrote: »My complaint I feel is valid. When I opened the account it was on the understanding that it was at 10%. Linky to web site & Linky to conditions (page 4 the one to look at)
"1 year fixed rate set when opening credit received and on the anniversary of that date."
There is a case for something for inconvenience. £10 perhaps? Simply because they should have explained your rate at that stage.I would also point out that on the 4 occassions of speaking with their customer services they have all agreed with my calculation and said that they would deal with it accordingly. as mentioned above is correct im not sure how you opened it.
if you had opened it on the phone you would have been told the rate appicable will be the rate you first lodge funds into the account.Lbm Spoke to Payplan August 2009 £29000.00
