I want to try and tidy up my loft. It is quite a large space with some boarding already in place. Some of the insulation needs replacing as it is really dirty and untidy. I also want to put some more boarding in.

Major problem is the wires running around the area as there are currently a total of 18 spot lights in the ceiling. (Previous owners must had bagged a good deal!). I can't see any fire hoods and there is no insultaion or boarding over the top of them.

Can I put insulation and borading over the top of them if I purchase fire hoods or am I best leaving as they are?

    Thanks
