Buying a dvd recorder from US

I want to buy a dvd recorder from the US as it's a lot cheaper from there.

Does anyone know if there would be problems with compatibility with the UK system?

According to this site it only has an NTSC tuner - so u can't tune it in!?

It would be useless except for playing back Region 1 DVDs, it's possible that it couldn't play Region 2 (ie Europe)

Also it will not have a UK tuner therefore you won't be able to record the normal terrestial channels and it'll also run off 110V, which means that as soon as you plug it in & turn it on it will go BANG.
