Import Tax - Faulty Item - Help Please!

Hi, I purchased an item (electronic goods) from a business seller from china from ebay. These were security cameras and recording box
The recording box was not working so I contacted the seller and the seller said return the box – which I did with DHL – I had to pay £40 for postage. I put the value of goods as half of what I paid for the full goods as the seller didn’t say anything and I assumed this was correct.
Now the seller is refusing to accept the item as he says I put the value of goods too high which means he has to pay high import tax. DHL are now emailing me saying that if the tax are not paid then the item will be destroyed. PS I paid this with my credit card. What can I do now? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Have you opened up a dispute? If not, open one, and enter the tracking number to show you've returned the item. If he refuses delivery, then it will show up as being refused, so you should win.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    That's excellent advice.

Paypal only need to know that you've returned it and the sellers refusal to sign for it won't impact your refund.
