My parents are making a contribution but at some point in the future my Dad will need a lot of care so I didn't want them to pay for it all (my future FIL is also contributing and we're paying the rest).

She's not trying to run the wedding - she's like this in all aspects of life and it's something I've lived with. She won't change (I've tried for over 20 years) so I have to deal with it. I value her input when we get on and I'm terrible at making decisions on my own so need someone to sound out.

Trying to find a car at the mo!

Preferably an Alvis Speed 20. Only found one for hire but it's in the South East. FIL owns an Alvis though a model where me nor my dad could get into gracefully! So might have to ask him if he knows any owners who could do us a favour.

Dear Skint_Catt, I can imagine how you must feel.

My H2B was made redundant too; infact he proposed a few weeks afterwards. It was very courageous of him. :T Our hope in the Lord and I know He will provide him with a better job right on time!!

So my dear, dont worry, marriage is of God and He will sort things out for you too!! :) (Amen)

    Hi all,

We're getting married in a church next June and wondered if we had to apply for a marriage licence somewhere? Or is this outdated now?

I have done nothing towards the wedding, having just been made redundant and no-one to help me I just feel nothing towards it :(

    Sorry - off topic!
