notification of legal proceedings

Options
Hi,
Recently changed from Scottish Power to London Energy. Outstanding debt for final payment £95. I set up an arrangement to pay them £16 per month. After the first payment I received a letter telling me to pay up at once or face legal proceedings. I phoned them and they were closed. Before the next payment I received the same letter, phoned them again, office closed. This has gone on and on. I rang Scottish Power, they said I wasnt paying. I told them I had a standing order set up as arranged for 5th each month which was being paid.
I've now had a notification letter from CCS with previous fees, solicitors fees, court fees and interest, saying as I have chosen to ignore repeated reminders they are going to collect it immediately through the court.
What else am I supposed to do to get it through to them that the DD is in force and payments are being made as per Scottish Power's own agreement?
;) debt free...yippee

firstly check exactly what your payment details are...you have mentioned both a standing order and a DD...these are not the same thing.
    which is it?
check the exact payment details i.e. sort codes, account number and reference number and amount...are you sure they are correct? what are you checking them against?
does you bank a/c show they have gone out?
how many payments have been made?

scottish power did a similar thing to us when we moved house and phoned with final readings. The final bill came to £245ish and we couldn't afford to pay it all at the time. We phoned to make a payment arrangement with them but they refused this unless we stuck to their 'policy' and paid 45% of the balance before a payment arrangement could be made. again this was something we could not do at the time. so after getting a little narked off, the only thing we could do was send a cheque every month to try and pay it off the best we could. this also was not good enough and they have threatened legal action a few times. we are still paying them the same amount monthly but this was something that they were not agreeing for us to do unitl we paid 45% . Just wondering if this is the same sort of thing they may be doing with you. it may be that they are trying to put this 'policy' in force that you have to clear almost half the balance in one lump sum, or they take it to court.
do waht clapton says and check all details are correct. if they are keep copies of your statements to proove you have been and still are paying
