Hi, please can I have some advice?
We are a small business that uses the above company. Each employee has a CC to buy fuel etc.
Each month we pay off the balance on each individual card in full.
Barclaycard sent us this months statement which showed the balance outstanding including the amount we paid last month
When I contacted them it appears that they have changed their method of payment .Instead of paying off the outstanding amount on each card you are now to pay it all off against one company number. Barclays will then allocate it to each card themselves.
On the details of each cardholders spending it shows the payment made and the date.
On the front page these payments have not been deducted.
Barclays have charged interest and made a further deduction of the minimum payment from our bank account.
They say they sent out information about the changes but nowhere on the statement does it mention them.
They are asking us to pay the full amount shown including the money we have already paid because their new system is unable to transfer the payment from each card to our company reference number.
They will then credit our account with the refund next month. If we don't do this the system will add further interest.
We are a small business and really cannot afford to give Barclays money we don't owe them for a month.

Then you simply refuse and tell them to sort it out - if not just close the account.

They are dire at the best and to be honest there are much better cards out there for staff, such as Natwest or even HSBC. MBNA even do small business cards now.

Anyway, they are wrong - if you have paid and can prove it then any charges should be immediately rectified and any trace of derogatory data registered at the CRA's should be wiped in favour of the true reflection (a green 0).

I'd be going to the bank and speaking to someone with authority and make sure you're prepared to cancel account if they don't budge.....
