nectar possible fraud

I have received my Nectar card statement and see that 1000 points (£5) has been used. I don't use money off at Sainsburys so when I called Nectar, they told me the date, time & store it had been used with an ''order number''. When I visited the store yesterday, they say the 'order number' means nothing to them, they called Nectar who confirmed that my card had been swiped on this date/time.
What I need to know is has anyone had this problem as well? I keep my Nectar card with me at all times, and was working at the time this incident happened?
I mainly use my Nectar points at Argos and use Sainsburys to collect them only.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks Heather

Hello again.
I've had a result thanks to Archna. Someone at Nectar had read my post, gave me a name/phone number, and thankfully I've not only had my 1000 points returned, but also another 1000 for the inconvenience. Shopped at Sainsburys today to check the points were there, AND THEY WERE....!
It would appear that I am registered for a Nectar keyring - which I don't have - and someone somewhere has got it, used it to swipe the points. As a result they are going to issue a new card & I have also agreed to have a keyring.
So the moral is "NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF MARTIN'S WEBSITE".
Thanks again to everyone involved with this.
Regards

Just found this.
My wife had 23000 points (£115) stolen from her Nectar account. We have all the cards, so it isn't a case of a stolen or lost card.
Someone used them in Sainsbury's, Edinburgh on the 27th October, my wife was in Milton Keynes that day, 283 miles from Edinburgh. She has several credit card receipts which show where she was. You'd think Nectar might see it's some sort of fraud, but when I spoke to them they seemed rather uninterested in sorting it out, instead saying it was a matter for the Police, not them, and that she wouldn't get the points returned.
It seems Nectar cards are open to fraud in some way, I have no idea how. Nectar don't seem too bothered by this and told me they don't work like a bank when it comes to fraud.0 -

I suspect the police will show little interest as well."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
update.
Nectar admitted they have had a manufacturing "error" that has resulted in third parties receiving key fobs. They wouldn't disclose any further information, when pressed they gave me the phone number for their press office.
I'm told they will now investigate the points being stolen, although won't refund them until this process has been completed.
I asked for some sort of compensation for the stress caused to my wife, none was offered.
They must have been aware of this problem before now.
I suggest you keep a close eye on your Nectar statements.0 -

Other than some additional Nectar points as a goodwill gesture, I don't think you will get anything else in the way of compensation."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

I have the same problem.
I received an email today from nectar which showed I had 150 points - should have been nearly 10,000. On checking my account I noticed three transactions for 2000, 1500 and 6000 points redeemed in Argos. I have not made these transactions as I was saving the points. I live in Salford and have only collected points in the Manchester branches of Sainsburys, but my online statement shows that points were collected in Willesden Green and Queens Park branches of Sainsburys - some on the same day that I collected points in Manchester!
I earlier called Nectar who have cancelled the card and are issuing me with a new one but advised me to speak to Argos to get the spent points redeemed. I called Argos who basically said that there was nothing they could do - and to try to find out from Nectar the stores used and the times of day so they could check their CCTV!
I called nectar back and got through to a supervisor who (after I had pressed the point of transactions taking place in London and Manchester on the same day) admitted there had been printing problems with the nectar tags, but couldn't do anything about the stolen points. I now have to go to the police to report it, so they can request access to my nectar account.
I suspect I will be laughed out of my local police station (or worse get done for wasting police time!)

I regularly keep an eye on my nectar points statement online and had the shock of my life today - 11,000 points were used up today in an instore transaction at Argos! I've not been anywhere near an Argos today - so hunted online to see if this was a common occurence and stumbled upon this thread.
Can't get hold of Necatr customer services at this time but will speak to them tomorrow - surely this is akin to credit card fraud - and not secure at all, if points can just be swiped away like this??'You see the coefficient of the linear is juxtapositioned by the haemoglobin of the atmospheric pressure in the country..c'mon gajive join the party' :dance:0
