It was a tough one for slapper to work out icon7.gif or maybe he was just playing the pedant.

ok ,we will have no public sector employees, the work will be contracted out to private companies who will employ people in the private sector, but pay them with money from tax payers, as long as it doesn't say 'public sector' on the tin were ok:beer:

I think Dev is on that gravy train already

    LMAO.

Oh dear carolt. In not answering, you have answered more eloquently than as if you had said proudly, yes I will personally benefit from the teacher's final salary pension.

Just like marklv on a similar discussion, your position is now entirely understandable.

Good on you. Nothing at all wrong in adopting a position out of self-interest, is there?

    ;)

Yes, there is. That's why I don't do it. (Reread my earlier posts as you appear to have missed them/misunderstood them.)

I'm arguing against my own narrow, sectional interest, as I explained above- except I don't see it like that. I'm arguing for all our interests - for a civilised society. For unity, not divide-and-rule, a la the Mail.

I don't see the point in pitting private v public in an us-and-them game.

I support workers of all types, against those who would employ divide-and-rule scare tactics to try to make one lot of workers scapegoats for a generally mismanaged system, whilst creaming off the profits for theselves (MPs, fat cats - both private and public - and bankers all spring to mind here).

I support everyone who works damned hard for their daily bread and worries earnestly for their future, against all the spongers - whether they be fake 'incapacity' claimants, or MPs with moats.

    Spongers the lot of them.

  • I think your argument would be a lot stronger if you focussed on those so-called non-jobs in the public sector - if they really do exist, then it would make sense to get rid of them.

By conflating them with those providing essential services, you weaken your own argument until it becomes unsupportable.

No I haven't weakened my own argument. The percentage of people who provide "essential services" has massively decreased under labour. Too many "inclusion officers" and the likes.

The "essential services" argument is rolled out every time.
Even if they are "essential" they should still NOT be getting their pension topped up by others (and retiring early like the police) They should get a fair wage for their standard of education and their ability. Full stop.

Anyhoo roll on the election. WHOEVER gets in will have to get rid of them in droves AND cut their pensions. I can't wait.

It's gonna happen no matter what.
At least you know it's coming.....;)
  • it wont be long before they turn on each other, it always happens.........

Benefits are being cut back already, even under Labour!
