Hi

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of applying through the clearing system. How long do Universities take to decide on your application? I was under the impression that it is usually pretty quick (ie same/next day).
Also what is likely to be their preferred method of replying?

Yes it's very quick, although this year is a bit different as you have to apply to the universities one by one through UCAS (you apply to one, and they have to reject you before you can apply to another).

Ring the university and ask if it's worth applying before you do, to avoid wasting time, so you can move on to the next university quicker if you need to.

If it's for this year, you've left it a bit late, most courses are full by now (or so it says in the paper!). Really you want to ring up on A level results day. But good luck though, I'm sure there will be some places left!
