Bonus is I spoke to one of the mums this afternoon who is a teacher and she applied to a local school to do a GTP (apparently they take on lots of mature people) so I just need to write to them and maybe spend sometime in school. I might even approach DD's school. Im also starting to think about may I would like to do art/photography/pottery /textiles teaching in high school. Might have to go back and speak to old Head at school I worked atI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Sally - i know you think these houses were gorgeous and you were a bit jealous but honestly.... when i visited your house or Bunny's i was jealous as hell.......
it's all relativeI'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I need your opinion on something.....
to do with this whole hubby's work situation.
As I'm sure you're all aware, my hubby telephoned me from work on the Monday 2 weeks ago to say he'd heard that the company where he works will probably be shutting down... literally by the end of the week!
The son of one of the original directors (who was also named as a director but just liked the title - didn't take on the responsibilities of the position) Said at the director's meeting that night that he wanted out, he just wanted to shut the place and walk away, leaving them all out of jobs... him and his wife included.
the barbie doll wife waltzed in the next day with the cheek to say "We feel so much better now, it's like a weight has been lifted from us!"
The others wanted to smack the thoughtless silly cow
Well one of the senior partners brought in a good friend who is a millionaire businessman who has now bought the business and things are going ok
EXCEPT.... director son will still be out because the new guy won't have one of the old directors still working for the company.
The whole reason the company went t!ts up in the first place was because of very poor management, not bringing in the cash flow, too scared to chase up bad debts but carrying on doing more work for bad customers etc...
Now, son is claiming that he never said he wanted out, he was only saying that while he thought the place was going under!
So basically once the contracts are signed and the new boss takes over he's out, end of story.
He's now worrying about what he's going to do for a job and wants to stay claiming the barbie doll is having a nervous breakdown because of the situation - more likely that she's panicking at the thought of not being able to buy her usual £300 DVB jeans and god forbid having to be seen in primark!
I have NO sympathy for them whatsoever.
Either way they were going to be out of a job, They weren't thinking about all the other employees when they were deciding over a pint to shut the place down leaving loads of people out of work.
It's also come out that when they moved premises 2 years ago this son (and his brother who has nothing to do with the company) were given £25,000 from the sale of the building and land, then he sat moaning the loudest whilst the employees were informed that there was not enough money to give anyone their basic inflation pay rise for the next two years!
All the other guys have said there's no way they'll work with this selfish !!!!!! anyway after everything and that he deserves all he gets!
The £25,000 by the way, has all been squandered on materialistic carp so they won't have an income until next year when he and his brother start up this 'franchise thing'
As I said, I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever - does that make me a bad person?
thoughts please.

Hey Sally I have that too, living in a council flat, no garden, working PT, heaps of debt etc, so I know how you feel.... doesn't make it any easier though does it?? HUGS xxx
BOS - saw your friend request on my email, but we're not allowed on FB at work!! Booooo....
I keep getting friend suggestions who have mutual friends with the DFW bunch, so if anyone wants to add me, send me a PM, more the merrier I say!!
DD's birthday on Friday, and her party on Sat.... help!!! Got all the food to do... but buying a cake, I'm not a domestic goddess like Sally... :rotfl:
Bought DD's school shoes last Sat, £30  but they are sooooo cute.... black patent ones. She wanted shiny shoes and they were the best fit so pleased with them. Can't believe she turns 4 on Friday and starts school on the 10th Sept xx"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

No I dont think it does - they been selfish idiots and are now getting their karma...surely if they thought the business was failing (which they must have thought for a while) then they should have been saving for when they would out of work anyway so they should have some nice nest eggs around for periods between pay such as they are about to experience...:D0

Maz hun, jealous of my house?! God bless you, it's a home but not nearly as nice as the other house we used to have...oops, that sounds horrible, what I mean is I love my house but it's not big nor fancy but it suits us (well, I'll be happier once the kitchen is finished but I looooove my garden now!)
I hear you all about being jealous, I feel the same sometimes especially when I have friends going on fancy holidays or buying new clothes all the time but bottom line is with kids, they are most happy with parents that love them and that is all. I know for FACT that you guys are amazing parents.
I have a headache...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
