I need to do a partial refund but i don't have any funds in my account. If I do the refund will it take money from my credit card and make the appropriate charges.

The alternative is that I make a slightly higher payment to my OH's account which will debit my cc, her account will pick up the charges and then send the money foc to my account and refund from there.

I don't mind the charges just need to know the best way. Paypal help pages er .. well .... don't.

help

You have to actually load your paypal account before you can refund, you can't do it as though you were paying for something.. If you know anyone with a paypal account they can send you the money, then when you get another sale and receive funds you can just refund them and neither or you pays any fees.

I eventually found how to do it .... Paypal don't make finding info easy. I can't get the money from anyone else. I can pay my OH from my cc with me taking the charges and then they can transfer it to me and I can refund. The 37p (less the refund credit) paypal charge is a small amount to help stop me getting a neg for my own stupid !!!! up :rotfl:

I did it as above and ended up with 20p charges. It was very easy. Interestingly when processing the refund it stated that if there is not enough in the account it would take it from the secondary funding source (ie credit card)

If you refund the original payment there is NO charge. It just shows the charge going back seperately when you check your paypal balance.
