Urgent Crisis - Hardeware configuration recvery menu!

My daughters trying to finish her uni assignmemnt over in the halls. Laptop was working fine till the spacebar went funny again so she switched the laptop off before taking the key off and replacing it. She then restarted it and it came up as a black screen saying 'Hardeware configuration recovery menu' It says menu allows you to select a hardware profile when windows is started. Its giving 3 choices

press Enter for acer system

press L to switch to last known good configuration

press F3 t restart (shes tried this but got same screen)

I would have said that "last known good config" would be the best one i take it she has backed all of her work up before this happened ?

After lots of trying this and that (L did not work) she finally got back into the laptop. It seemed in the end the reason could have been that the space bar key was stuck and it prevented her from starting the laptop. She only realized once she was back on and it was stuck...

Thank goodness its working again. Yes she had back-ups of work but she still needs the laptop top to continue work so she was really worried
