How to stop plug in water/sand pit leaking

Can anyone advise me on what substance I could put around the plug to my water section of the sand pit to stop it leaking water?
I would sooner not glue as I would still like to use the plug, and would sooner reapply a substance if there is one that would keep it water tight whilst in use
Thanks

I think your alternative are: find something that is slightly bigger than the existing plug and use that (I seem to remember using a large cork after I lost the one for ours) or use, as roswell says, a silicone sealer. I would suggest an aquarium sealer as that works best. If you try it out somewhere else, you may find you can just peel the sealent off and reapply it.

P T F E tape from any plumbers merchants, it is for sealing water joints, does the plug have threads? if so it will be ideal, if not it still might work, only about 25p for a roll.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

Thanks, will this just wrap around the plug and enable me to pull the plug out?0 -
Not derrick, but yes, you'll be able to pull the plug out. If you go this route, stretch it slightly as you put it on and it will stick to itself, although you'll probably have to replace it each time you use it (it tends to go stringy).0

No it isn't little Tikes, it is the one from ELC, although I think because they are so mass produced, not all the stoppers fit the holes properly!
I am however planning on getting the Little Tikes one as well, as I can't stand the sand getting wet by the water, so I plan to have a sand pit and a water table and keep them at opposite ends of the play area outside!
Hope the suggested tape helps you too.0
