I have similar using --alt-preset extreme for lame (around a 220-240kbps average). Am tempted by lossless though, as for around 3x the size I could have a direct copy of the track, no loss of quality."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

Ah nice. How do you find RockBox? I've read a few people find the UI a little basic and clunky. Loads of functionality though. Ogg would be the ideal format of the three (ogg, aac, mp3) if it had the support."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -

Here, I've used it on my Iriver H140, it really does give you loads of functions.

Hope this helps0 -
Seconded - Rockbox is very good. You can create themes or use those that others have made, much better than the iRiver software and very powerful. Not sure where the 'clunky' comes from, I certainly find it easy to navigate round.0

Just want I've read. It's certainly not as smooth as say the iPod's firmware. It'd most likely be a Nano Id be looking at as I wouldn't be able to support Ogg (think this'll be my chosen format now) on my Shuffle."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
