Scottish Power - Opting out after capped deal ends

Hi, I'm currently on a capped deal with Scottish Power and the cap ends on Monday. I have used energyhelpline.com and found a new deal with a different company, they are starting the switch on 1st Sept. I have just had an email from energyhelpline saying:
You recently made an application through energyhelpline.com to switch your energy supplier(s), and asked us to hold your switch application to avoid incurring cancellation penalties with your current supplier ScottishPower.
You will have recently received an email or letter from Scottish Power explaining that they will transfer you onto a new capped tariff unless you opt out. If you haven’t done so already, please opt out, as this new tariff has cancellation penalties, and your switch application held with us will incur these penalties once we process it on your behalf.
By opting out, Scottish Power will put you onto their Standard tariff until your switch application with them goes through, so you won’t have your energy supply disrupted at any stage.
I've not had any letters from Scottish Power and having checked my online account I can't see anything there either.
Does anyone know if I can opt out using my online account, or can it be done with a phone call?
Thanks.

Like you, I never received any notification from SP. I learnt about the opt out option from MSE. I phoned SP and asked them to opt me out (I noted the name of the SP employee along with the date and time of call). I will now follow up with an e-mail to confirm that my records were updated following my phone call to them. I don't believe this can be done via your online account (I couldn't find anything anyway).
I have started my switch away from SP to EDF - as there is a cooling off period of 10 or 12 days with EDF, I shouldn't get charged for switching away from SP before the end of August.0 -
Hi, thanks for that, I will follow your lead. Would you mind me asking what email address you think is best to use? Thanks!0

I tend to e-mail on every available e-mail address I can find. For SP they are:
customer.services@scottishpower.co.uk
SPEnergyPeopleTrust@scottishpower.com
It is also possible to contact SP via e-mail using their website; however not when logged into 'your account'. The link is:
