Shiny new thread, Shiny new me!!

Options
Well I do already have a diary going but felt it's more the 'old me'!!

I have a new job and am feeling pretty good about things so I thought I should start a new diary - one that I hope to update more than the old one!!

My 'priority' debts currently stand at £3,034. This is split between 2 different DCA's and one of them is the ever so lovely moorcroft!!!

I have 2 credit cards which unfortunately due to being out of 'proper' work since Easter these are both near their limit (£200 each). I am hoping to clear a big chunk of this when I eventually get paid for my temping work I did for the NHS recently.

My original aim was to be debt free by my birthday, but as this is just over 1 week away I don't think that will happen anymore!! So my new date is Feb 2010!! Then I can start saving for a house/flat deposit!! Scary grown up stuff!!

Look forward to sharing my journey with you all!! :j

I thought I'd write a list of things I'd like to do/achieve before I'm 30 (5 years away!!). I have a feeling that this years going to be a good one so hoping to cross a few things off!
    • To visit the tourist places near to me.
    • To go to New York.
    • [STRIKE]To do the Race for Life - (June hopefully!)[/STRIKE]
    • To play the saxophone (Baker Street would be the ultimate goal!).
    • To be debt free!
    • To find my soulmate.
    • To kiss in the rain.
    • To watch the sunrise and sunset in the same day.
    • To overcome my anxiety issues.
    • To be happy in a job.
    • To take more photos.
    • To buy my own house/flat. - Scary!!
Can't think of anymore at the moment...

  • Another day and unfortunately another boring diary entry!!

I've been having trouble with ebay today - stupid dodgy 'buyers'!!! Grrr!! Oh well, I think I've done all I can so will just have to sit it out I guess!

I applied for one of those pre-paid Visa cards today and figure I'll load it with X amount a month and once it's gone that's it!! Not sure how well it will work, not used them before, if anyone out there has then let me know your thoughts!!!

Hmmmm what else.... well hopefully I get paid by NHS tomorrow for my temping work!! Finally!!! Start my new job next week as well so am really looking forward to having regular pay again and being able to use my spreadsheet!! Not to mention having a boss who isn't a bully!!

Hi Diana, good luck! I will subscribe to your diary so I can see what you are up to! How is ebay going? Its really annoying when buyers don't pay or want you to ship to Nigeria and pay by some dodgy method!
    Paying down the mortgage:
    At 1 October 2011: £226,000
    Currently: £224,499
    Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%
  • Thanks Mel!!

Well the winning bidder was from USA and only joined that day so no feedback!! Then I got an email saying payment received, checked paypal and nothing in there! Got another email saying to ship to Nigerian business partner' and send tracking number and then the funds can be released into my account!

But hopefully it will all get resolved, I've adjusted my settings and will relist the item! It's so annoying and time consuming all because of scammers!

  • Well ebay all sorted!! They emailed me and said it was a scam and the user has been removed and I can relist item!! Even though I already have relisted!!!

I woke up today feeling pretty happy. First night this week that I've slept well!! Was asleep by about 1am! Yay!!! I actually think I have IBS brought on by stress and my diet so going to attack this! Might make a list hmmmm I like lists!

Also today was meant to be pay day for my temping work but no money in my account this morning :( I phoned payroll and they said it's because the bit at the top of my timesheet should have said 'bank'. To me that doesn't make sense because if I wasn't bank I would have got July's pay in July!!! Oh well they are forwarding the money so I'll get it Tuesday (which is when I start my new job there permanently so less time to spend it)! BUT I only get 60% of gross pay due to tax, NI and pension, seems a lot!

This put my mood on a bit of a downer but then I thought of the good things in my life and mainly that I definately made the right decision in leaving my old job with nothing to go to and not having had a full pay cheque since April!! If I had to do it all again then I would!

Trying to think of things to do with the rest of my day.....Must be something MSE as I have less than £10 in my bank!!:o

  • Afternoon all!!

My first Sunday off in months and feels good!!! I finished my part time job last night, so looking forward to having my weekends back!

Bit nervous but mostly excited about my new job on Tuesday! I do however need some work clothes!! Any money saving tips?!

Did my payment a day today, wish I could have paid more but still low on funds! I am looking forward to 27th September soooo much!! :D

Signed up for NSD in Sept, isn't it funny that I've actually missed doing them?!!
