Help - redundancy pay not paid and deadline passed!

I have to be a bit cryptic as my mate needs to be keeping to the letter of the compromise agreement he signed, even though it seems the company have already broken the agreement. Deadline given in compromise agreement has passed and money not paid. No proper reason given, they're "looking into it". They say it's "delayed"…

Update: lawyer is advising him to sue for breach of contract, which will be for a few people in one go so hopefully bit cheaper.

Not sure my mate can afford it though, it will still be v expensive. He's waiting to find out costs at the mo..
