Hi all,
I bought a coat last week, paid on the 19th. I've just had a message to say the seller's been away and will post today. I wanted it for Leeds festival this weekend, but if she's sent it second class there's a chance it wont get here in time, especially if I'm not in when the postman comes and I have to pick it up from the sorting office. The listing didn't mention anything about her being away.
Would I be ok to leave poor DSR's for this, or even a neutral? Back in the early days of UK ebay I left negative for someone who sent me an email and suspiciously at exactly the same time I got a computer virus, so I've been wary of leaving anything except positive feedback since.
Also, I won something else on the same day but haven't heard anything about that, is it ok for me to chase it up?
I don't know what the rules are for how long they've got to send things out, so sorry that it's such a basic question.

Did you pay for the coat immediately after it finished?
I think they've got 7 days to send it, so they're within their time limit, but perhaps should get poor DSR, or even a neutral.
Wait and see what the coat is like first though!
Have you paid for the other item too?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Yep, I paid on the day the auctions ended, I can't remember the times but it would have been within a couple of hours of the auction end.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Normally underneath p/p cost it states what service they will use and also how long (business days usually) they will dispatch in.
Personally i feel a neg for posting 6 days after you paid a bit cruel. I myself state in my listings that i will post within 7 days and sometimes it is 6 days after and thats purely because i work in a school and get 30mins for my dinner, i can leave school premises, but would rather not incase i am called upon for medical issues/1st aid. Then if meetings arise or anything suddenly comes up, you can be at school till gone 5pm, then no way of making it to the post office before it closes.
Ebay used to have 7 days for buyers to pay/sellers to post, don't know if that has changed though.
I do understand where you're coming from as i myself when i pay for things right away, expect the item to be sent pretty quick. But unless its a business seller, most people work and sometimes that job (like mine) makes it difficult to get to the post office quicker than what you'd like.
Granted though they should of put on the listing that they were away.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Check the auction, all sellers are required to give a time frame for despatch if they don't it defaults to 2 working days.
Personally I think it would be harsh to neutral a seller for not posting until day 6, they are allowed 7 days anyway under paypal seller protection rules. If anyhting just drop a star for their despatch time.
However should their listings state same or enxt day despatch (and most of the sellers I sue have that now as they default option) then maybe let the seller know you are not happy that she hasn't followed her own terms.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It says estimated delivery 5-6 business days, nothing about despatch. I'm more annoyed that she went away for a few days, it's the poor communication rather than the delay really.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Well, it turned up today, but she put the wrong address on. She sent it to (not the real numbers, just to illustrate) 6 not 8. Luckily my neighbour told the postman where I lived. Between that and the lack of communication I'm really annoyed, I want to give a neutral but don't want to be mean?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

You received it within the estimated delivery time and she may have been called away unexpectedly.
The wrong address is a bit more serious as it could have gone astray.
I think you are within your rights to leave a neutral, but if I was happy with the coat I probably wouldn't, as it all turned out OK in the end.
You should maybe mention it to her though, as she should be more careful in future.0 -
You've got it in time for the festival....Enjoy!0

Feedback is your experience with the seller. If you think they deserve a neutral give them one.0
