Reclaiming ppi from black horse

Hi Claire yes definitely keep at them you will get there. I sent 3 letters over 4 months and am currently just trying to get them to add interest to the amount offered.

Touch wood it seems you have a case! just follow all the template letters and dont give up!

Well after years of trying I complained through the Finance and Leasing Association and have just received a letter from Black Horse today informing me they "are prepared to put you into the position that you would have been in had you not take out the policy". They have not said how much I will receive yet but worryingly they have said they refunded me in excess of £1,000 in October 2010 which they have not! I will have to speak to them tomorrow about that but its looking good, they have offered a refund plus interest at the rate of 8% and say it will be repaid within 8 weeks.

Thank you to everybody who gave me advice on here and good luck to anybody still pursuing their own claim.

I had almost given up as I'd written to Black Horse loads and they had denied my claim then I wrote to FLA a year or so ago and they came back with a reply from Black Horse saying they denied my claim. I just came across my papers the other week and decided to give it one last shot and so pleased I did now.

I just wrote to the FLA again with a copy of the letter I sent directly to Black Horse and got the reply that they would settle my claim! I've just spoken to them and the £1,200 they say they paid me has actually came off the loan so it has brought that down which I am pleased about too.

Once I know how much I have refunded will let you know.

UPDATE

I received the money into my account from Black Horse yesterday - at last! It took them the full 8 weeks before they paid up but so pleased to say I ended up recovering £4,302.27 and also having two credits to the loan of £2,812.31 and £1,740.90.

Just goes to show its worth keeping on at them.

I am now almost debt free after 7 years of struggling after my ex walked out leaving me in debt.
