I found an article on the BBC website about hardly used gadgets. Interesting reading as it list Breadmakers as being an candidate for the endangered list of gadets that are pointless and no uses more than a couple of times.

Hi, I heard on Radio Two that Ice cream makers are the least used appliance - Johnny Walker said that they are usually used twice- thus making the cost per icecream batch about £60!
The worst thing I bought was a George Forman grill -we never use it, as I find it so much easier just to grill what ever it is under the normal grill!!0 -
For some reason I've always wanted an ice cream maker. Don't know why. I only eat ice cream about 3 times a year!
One thing I do use a lot is my rice cooker. Apparently it can also make pasta, and I think it doubles as a steamer. Must try that out sometime.
I've noticed though, the people who have the fanciest cookers, and all the latest gadgets are the people who tend not to do much cooking!0
