Just read thought this too, you didn't sign you shouldn't pay. It is fraud and it is up to the company to chase this with your parents.
If they intend to take this further they should hire the services of an independent professional handwriting expert, to verify these are not the same. The fact they were in on it too isn't good for them. Get in touch with the http://www.oft.gov.uk/ as under there guidelines a creditor cannot presue a debtor if they cannot verify the debt is theirs and in this case they can't. I'm sure OFT will be eager to know about this case. And before i forget, the FSA may want word of this too - http://www.fsa.gov.uk/
Also I agree, you must involve the police as fraud is a criminal offence, even though it can be of civil matters.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
