  • Thanks for all of your replies - plenty to get me thinking and motivated hopefully!
I wish I did like eggs and fish but I don't - seems eggs especially are such a cheap and healthy thing to eat but I cant stand them!

plenty of other cheap foods to have instead !

baked potatoes are great cook a few and have them in the fridge for 2/3 days. think they can be frozen but not done that myself. baked potato one night next night cut them in half, a wee drizzle of oil into the oven till lightly brown/crispy serve with a filling such as chilli con carne, veggie chilli, cornation chicken (cold chicken with a curry mayo). cut them into wedges if you wanted to.

rice is great, cook extra , half for your nights meal other half into the fridge and make a fried rice with chicken and veggies. you can get a cheap packet sauce colmans is maybe 40p approx but its been a while since i last bought one, others rave of a value curry sauce for about 10p.
  • pizza style muffins/baguettes/breads is another idea. i used to use tomato puree then top with veggies and cheese. its quite cheap to make your own pizza style sauce. i use passata, teaspoon sugar, some salt and maybe herbs. simmer for about 15/20 mins then leave it to cool. portion it up and freeze.

tescos/asdas do wee plastic tubs but i fyou use yoghurt keep the tubs back and put your pizza sauce into them (once you have washed them out lol)

i get the grated mozzarella cheese and i put that into the freezer and use it from frozen. once you have take out what you need put the rest back into the freezer. it might get lumpy but just bang it on the work top to break it up lol. you might want to buy grated cheddar cheese and keep that in hte freezer for a quick supper. sometimes i have melted cheese and onion on toast topped with a sprinkle of white pepper.

you can do a veggie stir fry (chop the veggies you fancy up, stir fry, add blue dragons sweet chilli sauce and hey presto serve with rice or cous cous) add chicken if you wanted.

loads of ideas....dont be afraid to try something new out and also dont be afraid to experiment!
