I understand some ebayers do this, never quite understood why. I have just one account
that I use for buying and selling.

2 main reasons if you buy something and you have a problem and leave a neg there is always the possibility of someone out for revenge buying from you just in order to cause problems and leave a neg. If you do not sell from that account they do not know where you sell from.

Also if you buy something and wish to sell it on prospective buyers can't see where you got it from and what you originally paid

it's for situations where you buy something from someone and the item doesn't arrive, is broken, is not as described, is fake or you have to leave a neg/claim a refund for some reason. Sometimes, the disgruntled seller will buy something from you as an act of revenge with every intention of being the worst customer they can be.

If you have a separate account for buying and selling, it makes it much harder for them to do this.

edit - dang bob beat me to it lol

Another thing many folk buy things on EBay for resale through ebay and it really lets the cat out the bag if buyers can see you only paid £5 for when you are selling it for £50 (I wish)......:rotfl:
  • I don't want other users to see what I'm bidding on, especially if it's something that I might re-sell at a later date.
