My local Tesco are not taking the Lidl vouchers, has anyone else had this problem?

A few weeks ago I asked about Lidl Vouchers at Customer Services in Tesco before I did my shopping and was told NO

However this week ( since the new Tesco 2 scheme to encourage more customers) I was told YES

I used Lidl voucher + Sainsbury money off voucher + lots of other NSS coupons. :j
    Might be worth asking again

Hi I used my daily star lidll voucher on Sunday no problem in Glasgow I did have a problem in the past and got in touch with customer service as it is a conditional spend voucher from a competitor and I was sent a £10 gift card for my trouble. You should contact C.S. and the branch manager will get his a**e kicked. shrewdalx

Shame, never throw a coupon away. Always try again or ask on here first. Conditional Spend vouchers are always OK, it's just that some Tesco stores don't know it or make up some excuse like there's no Lidl nearby, or 'Manager's discretion' (there isn't any discretion on these).

BTW I did post on yesterday's newspaper thread, to phone Tesco Dundee on 0800 505555 to get a refund for your Lidl coupon if refused (you don't have to write if it's only one voucher).

In fact you and surfsister could probably still get the fiver back if you phone and tell them you were wrongly refused your voucher and spent the £30. They won't want you to send it in AFAIK, so it won't matter that you've binned it.

Do make sure you name your store when talking to Dundee, some of their staff are good at phoning stores and getting policy misunderstandings corrected for the future.

Thanks for the tip, I asked at CS yesterday and was told no, so didn't bother to buy the papers. I would have used 2 annoyingly as the shop was nearly £70 and stopped half way making it 2 transactions. I will phone them and see how I get on.

Are the vouchers actually dated as they're running the promo all week- just wondering if you could buy todays voucher and post it along with yesterdays receipt?

I don't think the vouchers are dated and I don't think Dundee would know the difference (i.e. can't see them checking the adverts on the back then telling you it was the wrong Lidl voucher!). If they did you could always say you had bought more papers and had a little pile of the Lidl vouchers, you just sent them the wrong one when posting the letter...

But - I would just phone up and say what you said above (but don't say you didn't bother to buy the papers!). They probably won't even want to see the Lidl vouchers (they only bin them when refunding you anyway I expect).

My store no longer takes Lidl or Farm Foods, they did until a few weeks ago. They say their non scan button has been removed/disabled and so have no way to input it. I did query with Glasgow but no one told me to send in receipt to get the money back. Does it matter if you have loads of mocs on the receipt for anyone who has sent their receipt back?

Just spoke to the Dundee number, and was told that it is up to the managers discretion so although the policy is they accept them, the actual store manager is the one who makes the decision. I challenged him on this as to the inconsistency of the stores policy and how this effectively becomes a postcode lottery whereby one store accepts and 2 miles down the road another doesn't and he said it isn't and that the policy is they accept them. So basically, I haven't got anywhere at all- in fact I am now infuriated by their inconsistent policies.
