My laptop has rcently developed an error code when I switch on
"stop 0x0000C1F5 "
I've tried various restore points. Using the backup discs. and various other options when tabing the F8 key but none of these work .
It always reverts to the Blue Screen and the same error message.
Microsoft say that it's a hardware error and I should contact Sony....
The computer is no more than 18 months old.
I feel so angry  that its failed after so little use, can anyone please help ?

If you don't need any data on there, reinstall windows. It's unlikely to be a hardware problem!!

seem another that says boot with Windows 7 Beta Once booted, cancel out the Windows7 setup. Do not install Windows 7.
Once the system has booted successfully, remove the Windows 7 Beta installation disk and reboot the computer
but unable to locate a download for you as Microsoft have pulled itEx forum ambassador

sounds like it could be memory - vista cunningly has this built in during startup. If you hit f8 during startup - you will get the boot options. select the memory diagnostic tool - and let it run
if that PASSES - run check disk - do this by going to command prompt and type in chkdsk /f then hit enter - you will be prompted to reboot the machine. Do so and let it run  if it returns bad blocks/sectors - you WILL need a new hard disk.I feel like the day he died0
