Talk Talk phone packages

Hi

My Mum signed up with TT approx three years ago and has just realised that she is paying for 01, 02 type calls after 6pm weekdays. When I recommended TT to her, I was under the impression that inclusive calls meant after 6pm for the first 60 (70?) minutes, plus all weekend.
Does this just apply to local calls, whatever local means?

I'd be grateful if Heinz or anyone else with a good memory could put me straight!

Thank you.

Has she moved her line rental to them, or kept it with BT and just CPS here calls to Talk Talk.

To get inclusive evening and weekend calls on a calls only bundle you normally have to be paying £3.39 a month

Or if she has their line rental its £2.95 a month.

I'm sure she has her line rental with TT as well. I'm now debating whether she should pay the extra £2.95 per month or defect to the Post Office.

Local calls (24/7) are now free with TT (local exchange and adjoining ones) but it's not automatic, you have to log into your account and select it, or phone the call centre and request it.
Caught me out for a month or so as they didn't makem it 100% clear when they promoted it that you have to opt in.

She lives in Caterham (01883) and I live in the London, so I don't know if that qualifies as adjoining. I don't like the kind of companies where you have to opt into something that should be automatic.

Yes I think that qualifies, all exchanges adjoining 020 London nos. You can check it on the TT website if you put the relevant nos in.
I agree with you, but if you want free local calls, that is what you need to do,

If she logs into her account to select free local calls, does that mean the end of paper bills? Also, are the free calls only after 6pm?

    Hi Martyn_H,

What tariff is your mum currently on with TalkTalk? This will show on her invoices as will line rental if she is a TalkTalk customer for this service. As Macman says she will be able to opt in to receive free local calls and free 0870/0845 calls in line with her tariff.

    Cheers

No, of course not, online billing is entirely optional (though she will save money if she uses it, little point in paying extra for paper billing if you have online access, you can still print them out if you want)).
No, local calls are free 24/7 as in my earlier post.
Calls after 6pm would be free anyway if you are on the Unlimited Evening and Weekend package.

I've now opted her into free local calls which includes 0845/0870 if I'm correct.

There's a separate 'opt in' button for 0845/0870 calls. Subscribing to free local calls will not get you those free as well.
