Electric shower and temperature fluctuates

I wondered if anyone can shed some light on this. We have an Aqualisa electric shower 8.5 kw. Here is a link to said shower:

When the kitchen cold tap is used and I'm having a shower the shower runs cold! This is a new shower and I always thought if an electric shower is installed that anyone running water elsewhere in the house would not be able to interfere with the shower temperatures while using the shower? Our main water feed is from a combi boiler. I don't know if this has any relevance, just thought I'd mention it. Could it be that something hasn't been wired up correctly, or there needs to be a thermostat installed? Any help greatly appreciated.

We had an electric shower (Triton) in our previous house and if anyone turned on a tap anywhere in the house or flushed the loo then the shower was affected but it went hotter. We also had a combi boiler.
Sorry it doesn't answer your question but it sounds as though turning a tap on will affect it one way or the other. I'd be interested in a proper explanation as I never found out why it happened. I always used to have to shout downstairs to OH "Don't use the water, I'm having a shower".

The combi boiler should be neither here nor there.
AFAICS, when water is run elsewhere in the house, the pressure drops and the shower stops heating due to low water pressure. Make sure all of your stopcocks and isolator valves are fully open. If I have pinpointed the problem, but these measures don't' fix it, you may need to consider plumbing with a bigger pipe to the point where the shower has a pipe to itself.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Oh I just phoned aqualisa about this very thing this morning. I was about to buy the chrome 10.5 version until I realised it wasn't thermostatically controlled like the Mira version I bought previously.
Girl on the phone said that when the tap was turned on elsewhere, it would affect the flow of the shower and the flow rate affects the temperature so it could be be subject to changes. The Mira which has thermostatic control, can automatically adjust to changes in pressure/flow rate so you shouldn't notice any difference.
I decided against buying it and will stick with the Mira (which I was only going to replace as I wanted a chrome one instead of white for my new bathroom refurb ).Herman - MP for all!0 -
Thanks guys for the replies. Aliasojo, how strange that you rung about this! That was my thoughts that maybe there wasn't a thermostat control. Thanks I wasn't sure if there was a thermostat on this type of shower. Now I know!0
