I cant get Avira to install.Help would be great

Hi all.I'm trying to install Avira Antivirus on my computer but I'm having problems.I can download it no problem but when I try to install it, it just doesnt work.It says 'preparing to install' but then it closes after about a minute.

Has anyone else had this?Or know what to do?Many thanks.Josh

    Try downloading another copy, could be the one you have could be corrupted, Also when downloading, chose the option to install, rather than download to a location, If this fails try an online virus scan just incase you have an infection. Alan.

    Have you completely removed the old anti virus? If not then do so (Mcafee and Norton need removal tools)
    Use ccleaner to clean up the registry before giving it another go and try a different download area as alan suggests
