Fantastic news about your son's trip! What a wonderful and understanding school - why don't you start a sealed pot to save for it?

Keep well - carrying on as normal is fine as long as you put yourself first xx Julie

  • Hi, I am still about...just so busy i can hardly find the time to breathe let alone spend any time online!
    Quick update....
hubby has a part time temporary job with Royal Mail as a postie. Pay is not brilliant compared to the amount of work he does, but it is a job.
It means we are not recieving any benefits anymore, and money is tighter now than it has been for a very long time, doesn't make sense does it??!
I am doing a HLTA thing at school which is almost done ( thank heavens). Lots of writing and finding evidence in school work that I can do what I say I can! Such alot is done verbally, it has been quite hard collecting some of the evidence, but I think I am there. The assessor is coming to see me at school the day before we break up for Christmas. My mantra at the mo is..." I will not panic, I will not panic"
My health is not too bad, the treatment seems to be helping. The initial tumor has started to shrink :) and the secondarys in my neck have stopped doing anything, which is really good.
I will try to get on more often.
    Take care all

  • Hi,
just thought I would pop in to do a brief update.

Well, it has all gone tits up!!!! :(

We were just about managing when hubby had a terrible accident on his motorbike. He has completely messed up his knee and is now waiting for surgery. The Royal Mail sacked him today as he is not fit for the job, which we understand.
We have recently started with cccs, so hopefully we can begin to sort out this mess.
Feels like we lurch from one catastrophe to another!
I am sure there is a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere, but at the moment, it is a very long tunnel and the end is NOT in sight.

  • Can't believe it has been 6 months :( !!

It has been a very difficult year and to be honest, our dire finances have been the least of my worries though are still in my mind most of the time.
Oh has not worked since his accident in January and in fact is finally having surgery next month, this will be follwed by 4-6 months of recovery time. THEN, he can look for work.
We have just about managed to keep our heads above water(there have been a few watery gulps though!) Luckily, the dca one of our debts had been passed onto have also had another passed to them, and they have been brilliant. I think the fact that we have kept them updated all along has helped. Surprisingly, even the council tax peeps have been quite helpful! This time next year we will not be in debt to them anymore :)
I have recently had surgery as they found yet more cancer, the prognosis isn't what we would like it to be but I am ever hopeful.
On a positive note, OH and I sat down together a few days ago and went through all our finances and came up with a very simple plan to try to get ontop of our debts. Today we have set the wheels in motion and it feels really good :)

I will try to keep my little diary updated more often ;)

  • Where has the time gone? It's been almost 2 years since I last wrote on here  I read other peoples diaries and get lots of inspiration from them, but completely neglected my own........bad S.i.d, bad S.i.d.

It's getting late now and I need to sleep, so very breif update tonight, more tomorrow......I promise.

My health......This is as bad as it can be, so not going to say too much.
OH's knee........2.5 years after his accident his knee still doesn't work and it's in the hands of solicitors now.
    Debt........still too much!
Daughter has finished uni, worked very hard, got a 2:1 :j sadly unemployed at the moment but has had several interviews and found out yesterday she has been shortlisted for one and has been invited in for an assessment:j.
Eldest son has been doing a job he has loved, but the contract has ended. He has managed to get work with a different team at the same place, but it's not permanant.

As I say, tomorrow I will do a proper post......might even see if I'm brave enough to post some figures!
    Night all
