Don't have a cry S-I-D - have a large glass of vino! new_all_coholic.gif I know it seems like everything happens at once, eh?!

Never mind, get it fixed and get shot. Then you can get rid of hubby's car. We have totted up our costs and decided to keep hubby's van. We decided it costs around £60 per month to run including tax, diesel and insurance including full business use and by using his vehicle for his employer he gets more than this in expenses! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Keep your chin up - we all have days like this. Don't know if you read my thread recently. Had a wonderful success with Littlewoods EVENTUALLY agreeing to my offer after I ended up contacting their Chief Exec's office, then the next day I lost the files with all the letters I had sent to ALL of my creditors ever . This means that I'm now having to bluff when it comes to referring to previous correspondence! I was so angry with myself for not backing the files up. But hey, its the little successes which keep us going. Push on:D

  • Thanks for the wine gar, I really needed that!
Felt much better after a bit of feeling sorry for myself!!
The bike should be ready by Tuesday, then we will look at selling it. My lovely mother in law (and I am not being sarcastic!) has offered to lend son some money to put towards a 'better' bike:T. He can hopefully sell his for around £300 and she has offered another £300/400. She told us it would be a gift for him, but we think he should pay her back at least half of it so he learns not everything is handed to you on a plate, IYKWIM.

Off to walk the dog know. Will try to come back later.

Awwhh, that's nice of granny, aren't they just fab!
  • Not much to report today.
Fed up with all the talk of bikes:mad:. Don't get me wrong, I like motorbikes, but not 24/7.
Fed up that we are not doing anything today. All week I have been suggesting things we can do that don't cost very much, if anything! Everything has been shot down:mad: In the end I said s*d it and gave up!! Hubby and son have gone to a local bike dealer to see what they have...ggggrrrrr. Daughter is doing more packing, youngest son is jumping around on the trampoline and I have walked the dog. At least have tomorrow to look forward to, youngest son and I are meeting lots of our friends at a local park. We are all taking picnincs and hope to play some ball/team games. We did it last summer at the end of the holidays and it was great fun:j. Just hope the weather holds out for us!!!:D
    Have fun.

  • Hi,
have not been on very much the last few days. Back at school and sooooo busy!!
I have an exam next week so have been doing a lot of practice. Had two mocks last night, very pleased to say I got 40/40 on both of them:D:j.
Son gets his bike back this evening, thank God, it has cost him and us a small fortune in petrol!
Trying to think ahead to the end of the month when my wages will be lower than they have been:sad:. Before the summer holidays I had 2 jobs, now one of them has finished and I only have my morning job as a TA. Along with the drop in wages, the child benefit is dropping drastically now the older 2 are no longer in school and the CTX will also drop. So we need to re-assess our budget!! It's going to be tight, but we will sort something out!

Right, off to do some more practice papers.

  • Hi all,
I have not been on for a while. Very busy at school. I passed my exam:j.
Next week is the first of 4 training days for a new status(they don't call it a qualification!), then the really hard work starts.
Hubby has his new bike, son has decided to put the money from Grandma towards driving lessons and he is having hubby's car.
Have had a bit of bad news on the health front. I found another lump last week:mad: Had a scan yesterday and they decided to do a biopsy. They have already told me they are certain the cancer is back:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: So now, I have to go for umpteen scans before next Thursday.
Oh well, I have beaten it twice before, I will do it again:p

  • It's all gone to pieces this week:(
We have been told we owe council tax peeps £340 and guess what, they want it now........I don't know where they think we have got that sort of money:mad: We have agreed to pay £110 on 1st Oct ( that was the minimum they would accept!)
My daughter goes to uni this weekend, we need to pay her internet connection fee.Luckily, we have put some money aside to get us there, have a meal out with her and get us back the next day. A book we ordered from Amazon arrived today only for us to find they have sent the wrong one. Have emailed and are now sending us the right book when they recieve this one back. Bet it won't be here before Friday.
OH's JSA has not been paid today:mad: He had to go for an interview with them last week, they were satisfied he is doing all he can to find a job and agreed to continue with JSA, he phoned them today when we realised it had not been paid and he was told it needs to be re-instated.....WHAT!!!! Now he has to go back tomorrow with all sorts of paperwork and get it started again. Really not what we need right now.
Youngest sons school are asking for payment for a school trip that is coming up. £230 ( for a week in Wales on an activity holiday) other two went and we would love for him to go (all his year are going), just don't know how we are going to pay for it:confused:
Oh, and we only have £42 to our name.

AND...on top of all that it is my birthday today and today we had the results confirmed and it aint looking good :(

    Hi,

have just come across your diary & am really struck that even with all you are going through , you still manage to get on here & post :A

I understand that you want your son to go on the trip, I know it's really really tough but have you tried to apprpoach the school to see whether they would be able to help with the cost, considering your current circumstances, both financial & healthwise ?

I'm certainly no whizz at finances but just wanted to drop in to say how sorry I am to hear of your troubles & to wish you a Happy Birthday.

Thinking of you & sending best wishes

    Lula

Love to you SID - big hugs. Puts everything into perspective - don't stress over the trip - if you can get the money together he can go - if not there not much can be done about it.

    Keep in touch, xx Julie

PS Sod the debt busting and concentrate on you for a couple of days. The bills have always been there - they will still be there in a couple of days. Tell them your letters must have been held up in the postal strike :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Thanks Julie.
How long do you think I can keep the postal strike going??!!!;)

Spoke to the school about our circumstances and mentioned the school trip may be a problem. They were brilliant. They are letting him go half price and we can pay it as and when we can, as long as it is cleared before he leaves the school next July:T
OH's jsa has been switched to income based and as I earn such alot (£457 a month!!), he will only recieve about £6 a week! . Also, as i work less than 16 hours a week, we no longer get working tax credit. We will get child tax credit though of £53 a week. Not sure how we are going to manage. At the moment my wages just about cover our direct debits for bills etc.

I have been told that the cancer has spread and only the bit in the breast area is treatable:eek:. They are going to throw all sorts of stuff at it to see if it makes a difference. I am determined to get on with things though and carry on as normal as much as possible.
