how secure is it to use VPN ?

how secure is it to use VPN ? a company has offered to fix our bits and bobs remotely via VPN on our computer. my partner thinks this is not very secure (and though we dont have things that are that information sensitive) he is concerned. what are people's thoughts on it? thanks

It's as secure as it gets. What exactly are your partners concerns? I fix peoples problems over the internet all the time using Ultravnc SC and SSH.0
