That's the point, that we were under the impression that it was all "meant to be sat on" and that's how it was sold to us - not that part wasn't designed to be sat on.
The floor model was exactly the same as ours.0 -
Persevere with it - SCS customer service is atrocious, but don't let the matter drop.
I have had nothing but trouble with them, it has been dragging on since Jan and is now in the hands of trading standards.

Thanks for the words of support - they do seem to be deliberately making it difficult - the store managers being completely unable to do anything, so they claim and the head office customer support line being utterly inept.
They've had the 7/14 day letter to sort it out and they've sent an upholsterer, but given the likely comeback that they state it's by design (the upholsterer's report is still in the pipework) and they won't move I'm tempted to knock another letter down so it's in writing of what the upholsterer told me and what the store have told me.0 -
Try contacting either 'watchdog' or 'Doms on the case' from the bbc one show. He has got results from furniture problems.0
