Morning all. As another Irish person have to agree and say that that word isn't seen a curse in Ireland. It's not a word I use though so I haven't gotten into trouble.
One saying I really struggled with when I first moved over was 'I was really thick with him/her', No-one knew it meant angry and everyone thought I was calling the other person stupid.
A suggestion re: your Mum Nim. It might be a nice idea to ring her tonight and say that you just want her to make an effort with Dinah. At leas you you will have tried before you go over there for the weekend.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

The B word isn't a swear is it?! I use it all the time, I thought it was a word you used instead of a swear
... Ooo, maybe this means I'm part Irish?! I am ginger after all .. and I can to the accent. Comes out abit Scottish at times but that's by the by.
Gosh, sounds like you're in for a fun weekend with your Ma NIM! I'll just keep with hoping she's accepted it now for yours and Dinahs sanity.
Ooo, enjoy your Spa day tomorrow Dinah! If I were you I'd start taking what Nims Mum says as a joke, like if she comments on what you're wearing just agree. Completely throws people like that!0
