Very specific degree, I would think it would take longer than most to find a relevant job in this climate.
So, I think I'm done with ebay. The bloke who bought the laptop is very stroppy (I hate high value items), and a woman is pouty about a £1 (yes, £1) top, that she says must only be an 8 not a 10 as it doesn't fit her.... well it fits me and I'm a 10 love.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Yea pretty specific degree, i know the recession is hitting most people hard - but this area in particular is quite bad and i dont know anyone who graduated this year that is doing something degree related yet.
There are very few area of the UK that are taking on Police at the minute, very few vacancies within prisons and probation are not taking on at all this year (and those 3 areas are the ones most people who study criminology go for - typical!).
Why is the guy complaining about the laptop? And as to the woman who complained about the one pound top - what are you supposed to say - unfortunatly seems the customer is always right, thats what fustrates me about ebay!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Hes complaining that the charger doesn't work (was brand new and tested!), that it goes onto standby (only does this if it overheats, as stated in the ad)
The lad next to me at work's girlfriend just got accepted into the probation service a couple of months ago, she has an English degree as well rather than anything relevant - she only applied on a whim! Shes working full time in one of the prisions in Durham now. I only know one person who has studied criminology, but shes not a good example as if its not handed to her on a plate she doesn't do it, so is sat on the dole 4 years after finishing still!
All this ebaying faff for the sake of a few quid, think i'm throwing in the towel on that one. Car Boot sales here we come! Might offer dad half of any profit or something if he goes and does it, he has the gift of the gab (and a big boot!) and isnt scared to talk to people like I am!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

:eek:Thats really bad!! Surely she would want to get any job even if it wasnt degree related. I did some volunteering at a prison and absolutly loved it. I wouldnt mind doing anything to get the money in for the time being but eventually i want to get into that side of things.
The guy doesnt really have much grounds to stand on if it was stated in the auction! I had a woman a few weeks ago complain that the trousers i sold didnt have the tags in, the auction had actually said they had never been worn (which was true) but they didnt have the tags in.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Morning Ladies (& NIM)
A better day today. Slept like a log last night. Needed it as have not been sleeping well. Not in work till 10am this morning for a change so get to avoid the rush hour traffic and the early 6am start.0 -
Why do you have such a big budget, this a big family trip?
Yep! Well it's me and OH, with my brother and sister plus their respective hangers on. It's causing a right pain though! I didn't know my sister could be such a brat until we started looking for a cottage. Might just sneak off with OH in the dead of night instead!Am I the only one who doesn't like Krispy Cremes? They just taste like bland fluffy fat!
Nope, I'm not that keen either! I mean they're pretty enough, but they taste kind of watery to me. Bleh!
What a pain about the buyers on ebay Dinah! That's what I really dislike about ebay now, it's all in their favour. Might be an idea to do the carboot. Will have to do it soon though, carboot season is nearly over I think?
Paypal has been connected to my bank card so I'll be able to order those posters off of Etsy now! *yay* And payday too so double yay, have a bit of overtime money from last week too. I'd add a third yay, but I think that might be taking it too far.0 -
Morning all!zigmeister wrote: »Ever since watching In Bruges I've wanted to go there! I've looked on the P&O website but can't seem to find anything. I think I'm doing something wrong! Which travel agent did you go to?
Well it's a P&O cruise from Thomas Cook, but it's one of their Superbreak offers in the window - I couldn't see it on any of those three websites the other day, I think it's just the luck of the draw depending on where you live for what offers they have on?Tete I dug that Italian course out but its CD not tape
Oh, never mind, thanks anyway. Must quickly go and bid on those ebay ones then! There are very few area of the UK that are taking on Police at the minute, very few vacancies within prisons and probation are not taking on at all this year (and those 3 areas are the ones most people who study criminology go for - typical!)
My friend works in the probation service and doesn't have a degree at all, but I know her pay has been frozen since she started there two years ago, and in her dept in the last year three full timers have gone off and had babies and come back part time and they haven't got anyone extra in :eek:No shes one of these people who thinks it is demeaning to work for minimum wage. Ugh, I just had a big rant about this when I logged into facebook this morning - a lot of girls I went to school with who just have kids instead of jobs, putting statuses like "Ooh, I'm busy today, the bedding's in the washer already!" - well, MY bedding's in the washer AND I'm at work, Grrr.
Thanks for the link to the paper Birdie, I have my cards all planned however, and very minimalist they are too!
Confession time: I didn't get any ebay done in the endBut I did do some washing and ironing, made my packed lunch, baked Oreo cheesecake cupcakes (and cleaned up the subsequent bombsite), switched energy provider, hoovered and painted my nails and toenails and by the time I'd done all that I just couldn't face it! Am going to try and write some descriptions up between now and Thursday though to make it less arduous next week.
There, sorry for the essay! How's everyone?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
